A programme of professional development for talented workers in hotel industry A PROJECT WITHIN THE OPERATIONAL PROGRAMME CZ 04.3.07 PROJECT OBJECTIVES AND GENERAL
CONTENTS OF INSTRUCTION
This
project will be realized by the company JASEKA, s.r.o. in the years 2006 –
2008. The project is focused on acquiring and developing of specified skills
of talented workers in hotel industry (hotels and restaurants) in (i) the improving of participants‘ adaptability and adaptation to changes in hotel industry, (ii) strengthening of the correct
attitude to customers and visitors of (iii) knowledge and applying of the internal customer principle when practicing the profession, (iv) improving motivation and competence in relation to participants‘ own learning and further professional growth. The programme focus consists in the implementation of a modular educational and training plan, the core of which is in five two-day workshops where, apart from the instruction, the participants will have the possibility to meet respected experts from the industry. The instruction core of five two-day sessions will be enriched with other activities facilitating acquisition of new competencies and their transfer while practicing the profession: field trips, individual coaching, introductory and closing workshops. Completing the programme and acquiring of expected competencies will be positively verified by a questionnaire and a final interview, and certified while the graduates with best results in each of the instruction runs will be awarded. Among main programme objectives, apart from improving participants‘ competencies necessary for successful work in tourist industry (hotel trade and gastronomy), there are also: 1) to improve workers‘ motivation for further professional growth and education; 2) to mediate sharing of experience in above-mentioned areas; to support insights into these skills and knowledge from new perspectives; 3) to help the participants continuously recognize their strength, dispositions, and pluses for the work in services and also to help them recognize their weaknesses and more effective ways of their elimination. TARGET GROUP
The main target group for participating in the programme are the first line workers in hotel industry, i.e. the workers being in touch with customers, both with clients and indirect customers (primarily the front office workers, concierges, workers of housekeeping, security, operators and workers of customer services, sales and marketing, but also other workers, e. g. workers of the technical section). The participation is recommended mainly for workers who are motivated to continuous improving of services of the organization they work for, to heading towards the top quality of provided service. The
programme is meant for persons working in hotel and accommodation facilities
and restaurants in the Preferentially, the target group is created by persons who have a potential for further professional growth and, in the time of starting the programme, are in the position of basic personnel or are possibly in positions of foremen, supervisors of work groups, team leaders, shift supervisors or are in the lowest managing positions. During
the programme, the participants will acquire correct habits and knowledge for
mastering of demanding situations when dealing with customers. Apart from
this, in the area of communication, they will be able to use techniques of
conversation leading to better understanding of customers’ demands and

(RESTAURANT, HOTEL COMPANY) OR PARTICIPANT’S FEE
Instruction extent: 5 x 2,5 days of instruction, each session will have 20 instruction/training hours, 3 workshops and individual coaching. The total number of hours for each participant will be 130 hours. The delegating organization, or an individually entering participant, will contribute with a fee amounting approximately 5.000 CZK in cases where the delegating organization is not a recipient of the same type of subsidy. In cases where the delegating organization has been a recipient of a subsidy, the entry fee will, according to our estimates, not exceed 50% of the real market price that is calculated in the amount of 50.000 CZK.
